type=\"General\" weightage=\"20\" keywordseo=\"ONDC\" source=\"keywords\" class=\"news-keywords\" href=\"\/tag\/ondc\">ONDC<\/a> to break the stranglehold of the two dominant e-commerce giants on the industry.<br><br><!-- PROMOSLOT_M -->Responding to queries raised by the NRAI members at the Townhall 10.0 organised to discuss the topic &lsquo;Are Aggregators Helping or Hurting The Restaurant Business&rsquo;, <a id=\"20205381\" type=\"General\" weightage=\"20\" keywordseo=\"sagar-daryani\" source=\"keywords\" class=\"news-keywords\" href=\"\/tag\/sagar+daryani\">Sagar Daryani<\/a>, president, of the association said that they consider ONDC (Open Network for Digital Commerce) as a viable third alternative to break the shackles of the the e-commerce giants on the industry.<br><br><!-- PROMOSLOT_M --><!-- PROMOSLOT -->&ldquo;Together we will work towards making ONDC the third alternative to ensure that we have access to our data, are able to do business with reduced commission and deliver the best product and experiences to customers without deep discounting. The moment we get our commission levels cheaper, and are able to do business without deep discounting our PNL will become viable. ONDC is one platform that can make it happen,&rdquo; Daryani said. <br><br><!-- PROMOSLOT_M -->He said that they are working out parameters of partnership with ONDC and once that happens NRAI will organise another townhall to brief its members on the parameters as well as way to get onboarded on the platform.<br><br><!-- PROMOSLOT -->&ldquo;We have already lost the ground in the delivery business completely to food aggregators. We cannot afford the same to happen in the dine-in business,&rdquo; he said. <br><br><!-- PROMOSLOT_M -->If the marketplace platforms are not complying, the industry has to consider alternatives Daryani said adding that 20 percent of the <a id=\"21466116\" type=\"General\" weightage=\"20\" keywordseo=\"food-delivery-business\" source=\"keywords\" class=\"news-keywords\" href=\"\/tag\/food+delivery+business\">food delivery business<\/a> in Bengaluru is currently handled by ONDC and it can be further escalated and replicated in other cities.<br><br>Moderating the Townhall, Anurag Katriar, founder and MD of Indigo Hospitality and trustee of NRAI said that while the industry is not against <a id=\"21049183\" type=\"General\" weightage=\"20\" keywordseo=\"e-commerce-platforms\" source=\"keywords\" class=\"news-keywords\" href=\"\/tag\/e-commerce+platforms\">e-commerce platforms<\/a> enabling the businesses, what they are doing is dollar dumbing. These heavily funded e-commerce platforms, he said, are bothered about valuations and not profitability. <br><br><!-- PROMOSLOT_M --><!-- PROMOSLOT -->&ldquo;The only &lsquo;sanjeevini&rsquo; they have is discounting. Earlier, discounts were a privilege of the restaurants. The platform players have turned it into a &lsquo;mandir ka prasad&rsquo; - one can get it every day,&rdquo; he said.<br><br><a id=\"20315246\" type=\"General\" weightage=\"20\" keywordseo=\"zorawar-kalra\" source=\"keywords\" class=\"news-keywords\" href=\"\/tag\/zorawar+kalra\">Zorawar Kalra<\/a>, founder and MD of Massive Restaurants and vice president of NRAI said the question is of natural justice and actual control over once business.
